ZVEZDICHKA

This is a picture of Zvezdi after one of her eyes has been removed - an intervention made necessary after a heavy blow on her head, as a result of which her left eye had popped out. Her right eye is affected as well - it's heavily hemorrhaged. Currently she is unable to see and is being treated with the aim of saving her only eye.
Zvezdi lives near a pub where the staff has been taking care of her and her friend Gina since 2001. Both dogs have been spayed and AFA is in charge of their medical prophylaxis which includes internal and external insecticidal treatment for reasons of safety for the neighbouring eating establishment. In November 2005 a German TV channel shot an AFA 'Flying Squad' performance starring Zvezdi and Gina. Zvezdi was then taken to a surgery for a tumor removal. A month later she had recovered completely.
AFA will continue to support Zvezdi, but we now need your help as well, in order to succeed in helping well the injured dog:
· AFA has financed the medical interventions so far, including the removal of the injured eye;
· Zvezdichka has been placed with AFA's team workers;
· AFA was in charge of daily medical care. But we expect an ophthalmologist to be involved, whom we trust to bring back light in Zvezdichka's life. We hope for your help in order to succeed.

PENKA

Penka has had a deep running wound on her hind leg for months. She needs extensive treatment in a clinic. Whether she'll have her leg saved or amputated depends on our charity.

Her stay in the clinic and her daily treatment costs mere five levs. Peppi will need a treatment for at least a month: her wound caused loss of weight and general decline of her health status. She is nine years old and was spayed in 2000. Peppi is an extremely good natured and loving dog. Can we help her?
